vista If you were planning to upgrade to Vista, you couldn't have chosen a better time! Microsoft is slashing down the price of Vista in 70 countries! Read on!

It’s not official yet! Windows Vista would see its prices slashed in 70 countries. The cost of the most expensive version of Vista would be slashed from $399 to $319. The reason behind this move is a boost in Vista sales. Microsoft is hoping that the price reduction would make more customers upgrade to Vista, which made its first appearance in 2007. The price cuts are applicable on the packaged versions of Windows Vista which amount to less than 10% of sales. Contractual agreement with PC manufacturers has helped garner 90% of Vista sales as the operating system is pre-installed on these computers. Over 100 million Vista licenses have been sold since its launch, but with the slash in prices, Microsoft would be hoping to sell more stand-alone Vista packages.
