LG’s sure not gonna sit around twiddling its thumb while watching arch-rival Samsung zoom past it. The modus operandi to occupy the top spot again seems to be the LED-backlit 1080p LCD (previously known as 47LG75) a.k.a the 47LG90.

Sporting a price tag of $3,599, this LCD packs a neat punch with its features. There’s the invisible speakers, 3 HDMI v 1.3 inputs apart from an intelligence sensor which smartly adjusts according to the lighting conditions. The 500 cd/m2 brightness rating means better picture and there’s the ISFccc calibration complete with the quintessential USB port and LG’s very own Simp Link control technology.

Moreover, the “teardrop” design is one of its kind flaunting blue accents encased in a 5-inch thick package which makes up for the bulk with the elegant front design. So, is this all it takes catapult LG way beyond Samsung? Only time will tell!
