So, wheres the cash on this one for Google? Advertisements would be the logical consensus but of what nature? We predict contextual advertisements (which appear on your Gmail inbox coinciding with your email subject) to make their presence felt on the Google Voice web site, right next to your voicemail messages. What has us flummoxed is that Google is now working on a way to incorporate audio advertisements in your telephone calls. As far as were aware, theres a complex system which will track the users location and play advertisements of local origin. But, before you get the picture of annoying advertisements and fears of privacy invasion, let us remind you that your concerns are baseless. The advertisements will be played only while you are waiting for a call to be answered or while on another call. But, it isnt clear how Google will get this one running on real time. We hope that Google should give us a glimpse of the feature before launching it. All said and done, theres still a long way to go before Google Voice is up and running leaving us with ample time to ponder on this one. Only registered users can write comments!
