intel-core-i7 Look what Intel is up to now! The Core i7 a. k. a. Nehalem is all set to rewrite the pages of chip history. We hear that this itsy-bitsy chip will find a place in all laptops, desktops and servers which Intel rolls out in the near future.

Touted to be the “backbone” of Intel, this chip will boost the processing ability, slash the power consumption and make graphical improvements. Intel claims that this high performer would offer a whopping eight processing cores on a single chip. Now, this sure would escalate the memory bandwidth to almost three times that of the normal chip.

The “turbo mode” turns off those parts of the chip not in current use to save on power and at the same time the speed of data transfer is phenomenal. All this was done with the sole aim of having an upper edge over arch rivals Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) who seemed unperturbed by Intel’s innovation burst.

A sneak peek at the stats show that Intel is the global market leader with an astounding 80% of computers sporting chips made by the company. A huge majority of the tech fraternity is pleased with Intel’s draft for the future. Cutting edge graphic intensity on desktops with the promise of bringing down costs is something which is sure worth looking out for!
