Panasonics PT-AX200U has the gen next totally hooked! The classy
projector is an update to the immensely famous PT-AX100U which hit the
stores last year. Heres more grub to chew on.
The 3-LCD engine forms the core while the 720p image features contrast ratio is rated at 6000:1. But what makes this projector super special is the impressive brightness with an output of 2000-Lumen. In fact, this feature makes the PT-AX 200U shine bright and way beyond the veil of darkness which most other projectors fail to do.
Panasonics developed features help optimize the output for numerous applications and situations which makes the PT-AX-200U totally cool. The suite of features called the Light Harmonizer 2 work in tandem to give a superior output, even in highly lit rooms. The built in ambient light sensor technology adjusts the projectors gamma curve, iris, lamp power and picture sharpness to bring out the best picture regardless of the lighting situation. Paying tribute to the gaming section, the Game Mode setting is added which tunes down image processing to remove the display tags.
The benefits of the increased Lumen output was there for all to see as the 2000 Lumen is lesser constrained by ambient light concerns. Run the HD-HDV Benchmark HD-DVD and fine tune the image to perfection. The powerful image adjustments help to dial in the colour level which is closest to the real colour (accurate skin tones and perfect colour)!
The attention on detailing is magnificent. Detail in dark areas is as important as in light and PT-AX200Us performance in this aspect has been amazing. Now, the shadows in the movies and games wont be inky black blurs and you can get even the smallest details in unheard of clarity.
PT-AX200Us sharpness is another thumbs up for the projector. The Smooth Screen technology eliminates the screen door effect (space between LCD pixels magnified in the process of projection which makes the image look like as if its being viewed through a door). The catch 22 is that the sharpness of the image is slightly compromised but hey, thats not much considering that the defect is a needle in the haystack.
