Asus did get some neat attentions with their Eee PC line of Netbooks and their latest tech innovation is a keyboard with a capacitive touch screen which is not a mouse trackpad but something like a mobile display with touch screen support offering mini desktop itself.

Capacitive touch screen means multi-touch capable such as the one you see in the iPhone or HTC Touch HD 2. Stuffed at the right end of the keyboard, the huge 5” screen could support display resolutions upto 800x480 pixels. It is basically there to give you easy access to frequently used applications, wifi signal levels , time and a whole bunch of important stuffs. It functions something like a mini desktop all together.

Packing this kind of interactive display is first of its kind we’re noticing and we anticipate success to Asus here. Even the looks and finish of the keyboard is like a piece of art with brushed metal design and smooth key presses.

Asus' Eee Keyboard has already passed the FCC for American markets and now let’s wait for Asus to roll this out onto stores. Probably a Christmas launch?
