Manan Kakkar, Microsoft MVP revealed a wireless charging pad for devices which uses inductive charging in practice. The pad will be available with an accelerometer, OLED Screen ambient lights and Wireless and wired Internet access. From the words of Manan Kakkar, Microsofts charging pad is double sided i.e. can be used to charge with either side. The detection of which side of the pad is facing towards the up is done by the accelerometer and the OLED screen offers you news and weather information. The Power mat on the other hand currently features all the above discussed for Microsofts pad, that through the combination of wireless induction charging, magnetic alignment and RFID handshake. The technology works by aligning magnetic points to a pad on the top which completes an RFID handshake to decide the amount of power required for the device. Microsoft is still under works for the Wireless Charging pad and the sketch of the work is given below for your information.
