Yahoo Search Replaced By Bing |

Yahoo now signals the collaboration with Microsoft and revealed a new search deal. The twist here is that they have planned to replace the existing Yahoo search engine with Microsoft's Bing in early 2010. It really took two years for them to finalize the deal, and as per that, Microsoft would bag a ten year contract over Yahoo!'s core search technologies. The licence not only entitles the replacement of Yahoo search but also the Microsoft's rights to fuse Yahoo!'s current technologies into Bing. Microsoft declares an innovative and result oriented search for consumers, advertisers and publishers, and expects a drastic increase in Bing's market share, as an outcome. It seems that this move is aimed at taking Google, but it's the brand of Google that has been widely accepted by consumers, and it may take ages for someone like Microsoft to replace or overtake them, even if other major search technologies were combined.
