The 1340 is a heavily inspired effort from the Studio XPS 13 and the 1640 is just a jazzed up version with a 16-inch screen. Moreover, both these laptops would cost you $1,199 and are powered by Core 2 Duo processors and the usual array of add-ons. The 1340, sans any frills, would comprise of a Vista Home Premium, 2 megapixel web camera, slot-loading DVD burner, P8400 processor, 13.3-inch WXGA LCD, 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M G graphics and 320GB 7200rpm SATA drive. Now, the 1640 includes the same arsenal of features but comes with the additional ATI Mobility RADEON M86XT graphics cache. Well, nothing much to complain here, is there?
