Best and Free Way To Backup Your PC

Clonezilla Do you have any plans to take a backup of your PC? Before trying any new things, you must have a look at the new free OpenSource clone system (OCS) solution.

Taking a backup of your PC in a good working condition is really an intelligent and advisable effort. May be you are aware of imaging disk drives. It is a process by which the hard drive is gradually copied bit by bit, and is exactly replicated. This in turn, provides an option to take a snapshot multiple times. The replicated image is further copied in to multiple hard drives using Cloning process.

Though many types of software are available in the market, we intimate an effective free hard drive cloning software called Clonezilla, which clones a 40 gigabyte hard drive in just 15 minutes. All the major Filesystem such as ext2, ext3, ext4, reiserfs, xfs, jfs(GNU/Linux), FAT, NTFS, and HFS+(Mac OS) are supported by this software.

Two types of Clonezilla are available, Clonezilla live and Clonezilla SE (server edition). Clonezilla live is suitable for single machine backup and restore, and Clonezilla SE is for massive deployment. How to use Clonezilla Live? Download the software and copy the contents to a CD. Now, just boot your PC from the CD. Initially, the screen will prompt you to choose language, keyboard layout and resolution. In the next screen you have to select “Start_Clonezilla” to initiate the cloning, and after that just follow the on screen instructions.

Clonezilla provides an option for you to place the created image in local hard drive or USB drive, SAMBA Server (Network Neighbourhood server). When you choose the local hard drive, make sure that you have enough space to save the cloned image.  If you target to save in a different computer, then select the location to store Clonezilla image by indicating the IP address of the computer or simply the full domain name. Finally, you would find a screen to "Savedisk" to copy a hard drive and save it as an image for use on other computers, and “restoredisk" to restore an image. Naming convention and indicating the hard drive you are making a replica of should be finally selected and then you can start your restoration process.

Hope you are really thrilled with Clonzilla. It is really advisable to take a clonezilla backup right after installing os and your favourite softwares so that everything could be reverted back easily even if your system crashes.
