Microsoft Equipt : Software subscription plan

microsoft-officeMicrosoft’s taking their customer feedback rather seriously. The emergence of Microsoft Equipt bears testimony of the high regard which the company pays to customer needs.

Microsoft’s Equipt is the new software subscription plan which will include Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, Windows Live One Care, Microsoft Office Live Workspace and Windows Live tools.  The concept is already under test and (if we’re to believe rumors) is likely to hit the stores this month.

The bundle is the result of customer feedback as these applications are the most wanted and the downloading-updating process is rather frustrating. In contrast, Equipt suite promises to install the applications at one go and moreover, will keep them all updated. This might take a bit of time considering the mammoth apps size but you needn’t take the trouble of updating it each time. The onus is that all your files and documents will be intact unlike other downloads where they simply get washed off.

The price tag of $70 per year has gone down really well with the tech fraternity and Microsoft’s clear pricing ploy has worked immensely. If you calculate the long term costs, Equipt is bound to cost you much lesser in two years than buying Office Home and Student 207 outright.

What’s more, with Equipt you’d get a posse of other applications thrown in for good measure. Sounds great, doesn’t it? If security is your top concern and there are three PCs waiting for a Microsoft Office installation, Equipt is your best bet!
