Outlook Crashing While Start-Up

Sunday, 14 March 2010

OutlookRecently a problem aroused to one of our friends as after installing an add-on called outlook connector. After installing the add-on, whenever he tries to start the Outlook it crashes at the start up. If the same happens to you, here’s a fix.

The crashing of Outlook at the start up shows an error prompt window as given below. In this critical case you will not get any help from anywhere. The only solution is to find out any add-on or some other programs installed which affects the outlook and uninstall it.

If you are again meeting the problem, go to Control Panel and search for Mail and open it. In the mail setup click “show profiles”, this is figured below.

There you can see Add, Remove, Properties and copy buttons. You click the Add button to add a new profile.

Then you check the option Prompt for a file to be used.

Now your outlook should work without any crash and if it works correctly, the problem was with the profile you were using. So we recommend you to backup your data from your old profile before creating a new one.
