Past few months, a lot of talks were on NetBooks powered by Android and now finally a real one emerges with a price tag of just 250 bucks.
Skytone, maker of the Alpha 400 NetBook, will soon be releasing the Android powered Alpha 680 NetBook. Apart from the cheap price, this NetBook will also be smaller and lighter than the famous ASUS Eee PCs and it will make use of the 533 MHz ARM11 processor, similar to the one in the iPhone or Windows Mobiles. It is actually expected to be a stripped down portable useful for web surfing and light Office use.
So, if youre a pretty big fan of Android and wondering when on Earth it will be released, Skytone is pushing to have the manufacturing process in gear within the next three months. If the company can stick to the $250 price tag its aiming for, were thinking this could be a pretty decent competitor in the low-end netbook market.
