Even if the procedure of unlocking of the phones is not advised by any manufacturer, it has become a common practice now days. A software to unlock the iPhone 3G and 3GS is now available for download.

The locked phones will only recognize a SIM from a particular carrier.  A lock is actually a software setting which allows phone to be loyal to one carrier only. In order to use another SIM in the same phone, it has to be unlocked using some jail break tools.

For iPhone 3G or 3GS 3.1.3 to be unlocked, the first condition is that you must not be upgraded to the stock firmware 3.1.3. Using UltrasnOw 0.92 it can be unlocked in some few simple steps which are given below:

• Download the SnOwbreeze 3.1.3 and jailbreak your 3G/3GS 3.1.3 iPhone. For iPhone 2G 3.1.3 RedsnOw 0.9.3 will be sufficient.
• Go to Cydia in the manage tab and access sources. (3G should be disabled before installing UltrasnOw for T- Mobile users).
• Edit and  type http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com source url and click on Add sources.
• Search for UltrasnOw 0.92 and install it, which will automatically unlock your iPhone.
• Just restart and use your Unlocked iPhone 3G/3GS 3.1.3.
